Rock Climbing Training

Outdoorhire Rock Climbing Training

Our rock climbing courses focus upon tuition rather than simply a 'one off experience'. By spending time with us, you will learn the skills and develop the confidence to make the most of the open access Sandstone in the South East. Days of free and active leisure then lie ahead, mixed with the challenges which natural rock afford you.

Our rock climbing courses are limited to a ratio of 4 clients per instructor. This enables us to provide and maintain our high quality of tuition.

Each course is suitably paced over 6 hours. This allows you to rest and recover between climbs and will allow you to make the most of your day with us. The amount of time also allows discussion and reflection, both essential elements in the learning process.

The courses are held at Harrisons Rocks near Tunbridge Wells and run between 10am and 4pm. Meeting times and other arrangements will be e-mailed to you 7-10 days before the course date.

ML, SPA

I have spent many years walking in the dales and on the fell sides of the UK and hold a particular fondness for the Lake District and I have been fortunate enough to explore some of the more remote areas of the world.

I began walking in Cumbria as a teenager, which gradually developed into mountaineering and membership of the Alpine Club. Over the years I have received funding from the Mount Everest Foundation and the British Mountaineering Council which has allowed me to make the first ascents of mountains in areas such as Greenland, Alaska and Kyrgyzstan.

At home I spend much of my time training, supervising and assessing Duke of Edinburgh award groups and provide instruction and coaching in Hill Walking, Trekking, Navigation and Climbing.
